Susan's 'Resume' and Background

SUMMARY:

After many years spent away from guns, Susan purchased a handgun and came back to shooting sports - first by attending a NRA Personal Protection course. She continues to train and shoot at local ranges, and volunteers her time at her local gun club as one of the instructors teaching both men and women shooters, and is a former instructor for her club’s ongoing 4H shooting group.

Susan has been active locally as a program sponsor of the NRA’s Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Program - an accident prevention program that helps children learn that guns are not toys. This program is geared for children from pre-kindergarten to 6th grade.

Susan is a Refuse To Be A Victim Seminar Instructor - this course was initially begun by requests to the NRA for training so that women would less likely be victimized. The RTBAV seminar gives women (and now also men) strategies for awareness and protection to help prevent criminal attack via home security, phone security, auto security and physical security.

Susan is active with her local chapter of the Friends of the NRA program, and has participated as a chairperson in the grassroots fund-raising program which fosters community involvement, raises money which gives 100% of the net proceeds to qualified local, state and national programs.

Susan has also been involved as an instructor with the Women In the Outdoors program, which is geared to introducing women to many different outdoor activities.

Susan’s major interest is shooting combat handgun and says that she still has a long way to go before feeling like she is ‘good enough’.
